Gone Girl: Real REVIEW & thoughts after watching Gone Girl TWICE

Yes, I saw Gone Girl Twice

Go ahead and kill me. Yes. I saw it twice!

The one I saw it with the first time said 'Poor Girl' though during the second half we were both sitting on the edge of our seats, our hands on the seats in front of us, our heads resting on them, chin perked up in complete attention.
But for the attention deficit disorder I've, even I was pitying myself and wondering if I'm wasting precious two hours of my life trying to watch a thriller whose every twist and turn is known to me.

  • Surprisingly I watched frame by frame and also re-laughed at some of the jokes.

P.S: I can't remember the last time I had ever seen a movie twice. No. I checked. The doctor still declares me sane. Maybe the director should meet me. I'm his true audience he makes films for. Lol. I admit it's a messed up movie.

It's a fucked up movie about a fucked up couple who compliment and complete each other in the most fucked up way.
(I usually don't abuse at all. Maybe this is the first time you're seeing me use these words, because of the movie and its genius intelligence and just relating to the characters and using their language).
(I saw Gone Girl for the second time out of compulsion, no doubt. But yeah.)

"It really is true. It took this awful situation for us to realize it. Nick and I fit together. I am a little too much, and he is a little too little. I am a thornbush, bristling from the overattention of my parents, and he is a man of a million little fatherly stab wounds, and my thorns fit perfectly into them."
    - Quote from Gone Girl book.

Villain, Heroine or just shades of Grey?

If you miss the fine lines or the quick dialogues you don't get the whole story. You hate it because, in the end, you don't know what's the truth. Both the central characters are grey. None of them is the villain or the heroine. No one is black or white. Except for the twin sister. What a warm character she plays and how beautifully! My God!

And because both of them are such liars you don't know when they are lying.
And because you see it through his eyes and then hers you don't know who to believe and to what extent.

You only know the parts where both agree or where either confess!

For all those people on the internet blaming it as anti-women, being the feminist I'm, I don't see it that way at all!
I mean OK.  I did have my doubts and gave anyone a benefit of doubt after my first time. But after watching it a whole second time I'm not insane! (You are not supposed to take it seriously every time I say I'm insane in a humble way! )

    Gone Girl Review Verdict

    Movie Rating ★★★★☆Ability to churn you ★★★★★ 🤪Dialogues ★★★★★ 🤯Acting ★★★★☆🤩Cinematography/ shots ★★★☆☆ 😊

Before you read on, go see the movie if you have an ability to catch every dialogue. If you like difficult movies and can connect flashbacks in time on and off and are intrigued by the ironies of life and relationships,  of lies and quirks of the mind, how and what leads people to be totally fucked up, if you wish to redefine the word extreme in normal life, go see the movie. Yes. Please!

But if you are a HAPPY NEW YEAR kind of a movie lover who wants the brain to be left at home and goes to a movie just to relax and possibly just laugh or doze off, sorry this is gonna be a bouncer(read overhead transmission) for you and you come out and say what the hell!

So. Now I know it all.

    Ask me.

    All those questions.
Guess 99% believed it was not her husband's child.
Spoilers Ahead. Only proceed if you're brave.
I've not read the book. I advise not to. Until you see the movie else you will really want some of the dialogues to be in there.
Yeah. So why did they think it was Barney Stinsons child? Because none of them paid attention to the fact that the poor guy actually never came in her.

Because none of them heard she was ready for the paternity tests and none of them heard Nick telling his twin sister that Amy had not destroyed the sperm sample after all.

That was her last weapon to have him stay with her for at least 18 years as he would never get custody of his child as he owned the only lies in the Amy Diaries of Amy and Nick love stories in front of America.
    1. Credit card debts
    2. Violent nature and pushing a wife when she wants to be pregnant.
    3. Infidelity
    4. Father, a proven sadist

Compare that to the Amazing Amy character that America loved.
    Who makes a better parent?
Of course, the world didn't know that the real Amy had earlier framed people for rape and now murdered someone because she loved her husband and does play God and teaches people lessons for what they do.
If you look closely, you pity the characters for what they have become and why. It shows you the why. It does show what they have become and what they did to each other.
Each of them pretended to be someone the other wanted and loved each other and pulled it off for 3 long years.

    Pretense has to end someday.

What happens when you are yourself with your soul mate?

"We weren’t ourselves when we fell in love, and when we became ourselves – surprise! – we were poison. We complete each other in the nastiest, ugliest possible way."

It really is true. It took this awful situation for us to realize it. Nick and I fit together. I am a little too much, and he is a little too little.I am a thorn bush, bristling from the over attention of my parents, and he is a man of a million little fatherly stab wounds, and my thorns fit perfectly into them.

The kind of blatant truth the quotes said really hit me. I'll put in another post and I dare you if you won't like it? I can't find anyone who won't relate to those quotes man or woman.
